170 parrots in Vancouver Dome

This is, in my opinion, a typical example of something that looks wonderful but, in reality, it's not - not at all! Now, I don't know who had the bright idea of putting all these birds with completely different diets together but, whoever it was, it did not know much about parrots. And I don't know why nobody has complained about it because an ekkie cannot eat the same as a macaw or a cockatoo but, if they are all sharing, they are all eating the same diet! I also think it was a HUGE disservice to the poor birds because these are all ex pet birds and, as such, they are imprinted to humans [the bit about the little bird flying down to the woman's shoulder and telling her 'I love you' pretty much broke my heart!] and no single human can keep so many birds happy... especially somebody who just works there!
